No Need To Feel ‘Insecure’! Issa Rae Named Newest Face Of CoverGirl

She’s an easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl! It has recently been reported that HBO’s newest hit show, ‘Insecure’s,’ creator and writer, Issa Rae has been titled as a new edition to the CoverGirl Team.

The multi-talented writer, director, actress, and producer announced the big news on her Instagram page this morning. She wrote a very sincere, and wholehearted caption under her picture expressing,

“I remember being an awkward black girl in high school, reading the pages of my favorite magazines, casually flipping through CoverGirl ads, singing their slogan in my head. Never EVER in my life did I imagine I’d be one. I am SO honored and SO excited for what’s to come.”

In addition to Issa’s announcement, the beauty brand also celebrated the news on its own social media pages stating,

“YES, you better believe it beautiful, the secret is finally out and we couldn’t be happier! YOU, ARE, EVERYTHING, and we are so honored to welcome you to the #COVERGIRL family!

Moreover, with Rae being the latest celebrity face of the cosmetics brand, she joins other celebs like Katy Perry, Zendaya, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Janelle Monae, and many more who have fronted campaigns in the past years.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Issa also added,

“My character is ever-evolving, and makeup is a tool to help transform my persona, whether for a role I play in content that I produce, or the different roles I take on in my life.”
