Non-Verbal Autistic Boy Finds His Voice After Hearing “Old Town Road”
It seems like Lil Nas X‘s 7-week No. 1 hit “Old Town Road” is providing a miracle for one mother and her non-verbal, autistic son, who found his voice after listening to the track.
While sharing her personal triumph on social media, Shelette Brundidge posted a video where she explains how her non-verbal son became inspired by the song to begin humming, and is now full-on singing along to it.
Brundidge captioned the post, “We had an #oldtownroad miracle at my house. My son Daniel has #autism and doesn’t talk. We caught him humming the @LilNasX and @billyraycyrus tune the other day. Then Bless God, my baby started singing the song on his own. His therapists have started to use it in his sessions!” The rapper then quote-tweeted, “what a king.”
In addition, the elated mother continued to mention that Daniel hadn’t been able to piece together words and form a sentence since birth.
