Nosey Plane Passenger Saves Two Kids From Sex Abuse By Reading Fellow Passenger’s Text

A woman saved two young kids from sexual assault by reading a fellow plane passenger’s text message from over his shoulder!

Reading messages from over someone’s shoulder is what one would call being nosey. However, in this case, while yes, it was nosey, it saved the lives of two young kids.

A female passenger flying from Seattle to San Jose noticed a strange conversation on the phone coming from the man in front of her.

The female, who wants to remain anonymous, noticed Michael Kellar, 56, texting in a large font about sexual assault.

As the young teacher noticed what was going on, she quickly began following his messages through pictures that have yet to be obtained.

According to police records, the teacher notified flight attendants, who notified police working outside the terminal as the flight was landing.

Kellar was arrested by San Jose PD ICAC detectives along with the San Francisco Division of the FBI.

Upon reading the messages, police also located Gail Burnworth, 50, and arrested her.

Burnworth, a babysitter who had access to a 5-year-old and 7-year-old, gave Kellar access to the children.

“It’s kind of mind-blowing,” San Jose sex-crimes Detective Nick Jourdenais said. “She gets on a plane, a normal citizen minding her business. A couple of hours later, she’s intervening on quite possibly the most traumatic thing children can go through. This was life-altering for them.”

The conversation was said to revolve around Kellar, the individual on the other end, to perform sex acts on the kids.

Capt. Mike Edwards, commander of the Seattle Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force, was the one who located Burnworth.

In a statement, he said, “Folks that are doing these sort of things are literally all around us. We don’t know who they are. The discussion that was going on was very disturbing, about harm to children.”

As of now, there is no word yet on the relationship these two children had with the suspects.

Kellar is currently in the Santa Clara County Jail on two counts of Attempted Child Molestation and two counts of Solicitation of a Sex Crime.

As for Burnworth, she is in the Pierce County Jail for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Rape of a Child 1st Degree, and Dealing in Depictions of a minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
