O.J. Simpson Refuses To Talk About Ex-Wife’s Murder Ahead Of 25th Anniversary

O.J. Simpson recently spoke with Associated Press in a telephone interview to give an update on what his life has been like after spending years behind bars, and what’s possibly going through his mind ahead the 25th anniversary of the murders of his former wife and her friend, and the subsequent criminal and civil trials.

While speaking with AP, the former football star and actor said he and his family have moved past the “trial of the century” that saw him cleared of a double murder. Simpson was found not guilty in a criminal trial over the homicides, however, he was actually found responsible in a civil trial later on.

Simpson said after going through that very tough time, life for him is just “fine” now. He shared that he is healthy and living happily in Las Vegas. With that said, he believes there no reason he or his children should look back or talk about the June 12, 1994 slaying of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. He told AP,

“We don’t need to go back and relive the worst day of our lives,” he said, adding that it is a subject that “I will never revisit again. My family and I have moved on to what we call the ‘no negative zone.’ We focus on the positives.”

As it was previously reported, he was acquitted by a jury in 1995 of the slayings of Brown and Goldman, but later lost a civil wrongful death suit in 1997. A civil court awarded a $33.5 million judgment against him, AP reported. Simpson then spent a total of nine years in prison after a conviction of robbery and kidnapping in an unrelated case concerning a dispute over sports memorabilia. He was later released in 2017.
