Ohio Daycare Worker Who Sexually Abused Kids Gets 30 Day Sentence
A daycare worker was givin30 days in jail for sexually abusing three children who were in her care.
Kimberly Hignite got a plea deal after she pleaded guilty to numerous counts of endangering a child, which in her case was considered a first-degree misdemeanor. Back in July 2018, she was charged with gross sexual imposition against three children, and 17 counts of child endangering.
This Monday she pleaded guilty to 14 counts of child endangering with prosecutors agreeing to drop the other charges.
WBNS reports that Hignite had her own unlicensed home daycare facility in her Ohio home where she forced kids, aged 3, 5 and 11, to touch each other sexually. According to the children, she said it a game called the “Silly Private Game.” She had more than 23 children in her care at one point and she wasn’t even home.
Franklin County Common Pleas Judge William Woods said the case was especially difficult for him while filing the charges,
“I certainly understand the pain of the families in this case, the seriousness of the trust that is placed upon daycare’s, the impact day cares to have on the children,” Woods said. “The court hopes again that the families are successful in overcoming the harm that has been done in this case.”
She will be serving her 30 days in a private jail in Richland County.
