Ohio Lawmaker Candice Keller Refuses To Resign After Blaming Drag Queens For Mass Shootings
Ohio lawmaker, Candice Keller who blamed the recent mass shootings on same-sex marriage, trans-people, drag-queens, and even Obama is refusing to resign from her position, despite requests from the state’s Republican Party leader.
As we reported, in a since-deleted Facebook post she blamed, “The breakdown of the traditional American family (thank you, transgender, homosexual marriage, and drag queen advocates)” for the recent masss shootings that occurred in Texas and Ohio.
The chairwoman of the Ohio Republican Party, Jane Timken quickly called for Keller’s resignation over the “shocking and utterly unjustifiable” comments she made following the tragedies.
“While our nation was in utter shock over the acts of violence in El Paso and Dayton, Republican State Representative Candice Keller took to social media to state why she thought these acts were happening,” Timken said to the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Our nation is reeling from these senseless acts of violence and public servants should be working to bring our communities together, not promoting divisiveness.”
However, Keller isn’t budging and still plans to run for a senate seat in Butler County.
“Establishment moderates have never been fans of mine because I ran against their endorsement and won,” Keller said in response to Timken. “As the only conservative in this race, I will be taking my Senate campaign to the voters to decide.”
