Over 100 Dead, Internet Cut Off During Protests In Iran

Iran has been cut off from the world after the government cut off the internet following violent protests.

According to Amnesty International more than 106 people have already been murdered since the protests started. Some of the shocking social media videos show snipers shooting at innocent people who were not even protesting.

 

“I feel like I am stranded on an island. I have no idea what is happening to other people and to my friends in other cities,” a student ABC News. “In this very sensitive time, my news source is now limited to the state TV and state news website. I am not sure how much is left out.”

The protests originally began over rising gas prices, but, they soon went from economic concerns to political, with many of the protesters fighting against Iran’s Islamic ruling and its leaders.

The move by the Supreme National Security Council is turning the internet off was to control the dissemination of information, silence protesters, and preventing people from communicating about the atrocities to the outside world.
