Newcomer Ozuna just doubled his feat for Top Latin Artist of the Year. Not only did he win at April’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, but today (May 20) at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
While the 26-year-old Puertorriqueño beat out veterans J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonis and Romeo Santos, he also scored this extraordinary feat for an artist with just one album to his name.
In addition to Top Latin Artist, Ozuna takes home this year’s award for Top Latin Album, with ‘Odisea,’ his March-released project that made history on Billboard‘s Top Latin Albums chart.
Furthermore, the record notched its 30th week atop the list (dated March 31), making it the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by a male artist in the chart’s 24-year history.
Additionally, ‘Odisea‘ currently holds as the album with the third-most weeks atop the chart, following Gloria Estefan‘s ‘Mi Tierra‘ (at 58 weeks in 1993-94).
