Passengers Survive After Plane Bursts Into Flames & Crashes
Ten people miraculously survived a plane crash after the aircraft burst into flames.
The Cessna Citation caught fire shortly after its takeoff was unexpectedly canceled from Oroville Municipal Airport in Northern California. The plane was heading to Oregon.
According to authorities, complications within the aircraft caused the plane and the grass around it to catch fire. By the time first responders arrived, the plane was fully engulfed.
Luckily, all 10 passengers walked away unharmed. Graphic Packaging International, a paper products company, confirmed that eight of its employees were on board.
The smoke from the incident forced the closure of Highway 162 in the area, but the road has since reopened, CHP assured.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, however, an investigation takes a year or more to determine the cause of the incident.
