Patriots Release Antonio Brown Following Rape Allegations
Antonio Brown’s term with the Patriots is over!
ESPN reports that the team just announced that they are dropping Brown after weeks of discussion following allegations that he raped his former trainer, Britney Taylor.
“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown,” the team said in a statement. “We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”
As we reported, Brown was sued for sexual assault and rape just a day after becoming part of the Patriots.
Brown also tweeted a goodbye message this afternoon,
“Thanks for the opportunity appreciate @Patriots,” Brown tweeted late this afternoon.
In addition, he posted a photo with Tom Brady on Instagram, captioned, “Love ya champ. That was fun!”
Earlier Friday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has to end a press conference because he was done answering questions about Brown.
