Pete Davidson On Quitting Social Media: ‘I Can’t Go On That For Obvious Reasons’

While attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, this past weekend, comedian Pete Davidson spoke with Variety about his new film, his last stint in rehab and quitting social media.

In addition to sharing his admiration for the city, which he last visited for rehab, the SNL actor spoke more of his personal life, and quitting social media following his very public engagement and breakup with singer Ariana Grande, and more recently, his tweet about not wanting “to be on this earth anymore.”

Subsequent to that, Davidson deactivated his accounts and now explains he’s no longer a fan. He says, “I can’t go on [social media] for obvious reasons. [For kids dealing with bullying,] just don’t go online. it doesn’t make me very happy. Even if it’s not about me, it’s random sh-t like, ‘Trump farts.’ I’m not a fan of it.”

Aside from his personal life statements, Davidson spoke to the publication about his Sundance-debuting film Big Time Adolescence; which premieres at the festival on Tuesday (Jan. 29).
