Photos Of Missing New Jersey Teen Shows Up On Sex Trafficking Websites
Family and friends of New Jersey teen Aviana Weaver have been on the search for her after she went missing last week. Concerns continue to grow as it‘s been discovered that Aviana’s pictures have popped up on sex trafficking websites.
According to the New York Post, the 17-year-old’s mother Angelica Scarlett said investigators came to her with some disturbing news.
“We have pornography pictures and my daughter looked completely upset and unhappy in these photos,” Angelica Scarlett told the station. “[Investigators] believe she is in danger, being held against her will. She’s 17 and she looks upset.”
Aviana was last seen on Sept. 12 in Mount Holly, NJ. The teen’s mother said her phone was last pinged in West Philadelphia and has since been shut off. Scarlett also told the station that she received a text from a number that wasn’t her daughter’s, saying Aviana would be home soon for school and that she loved her.
“That failed,” she said. “Her phone was there but they’re changing her number constantly. She doesn’t have her phone anymore. They’re using flip phones or burner phones or something.”
Scarlett went on to explain,
“She’s never done this before. This is her senior year. She went to school for the first few days and then disappeared. She missed an eye doctor appointment. She doesn’t have any clothes. This is not like her. She hasn’t been known to be on any drugs. We don’t have family or friends in Philadelphia. It’s completely out of character and scary.”
Weaver is of mixed race — black, white and Hispanic — around 5 feet 4 and 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the missing children agency. We are praying for a safe return.
