Some police departments in the United States are asking potential criminals to hold off on their illegal activities until the heat wave is over.
According to ABC 7 News, the official Facebook page of the Braintree Police Department in Massachusetts advised criminals to hold off on their activities until the heat wave is over.
“It is straight-up hot as soccer balls out there. Conducting criminal activity in this extreme heat is next-level henchmen status and also very dangerous.”
Additionally, the department suggested several activities to stay cool and out of trouble.

In Chicago, the Westchester Police Department posted a similar message and said they were “officially canceling all misdemeanor and felony criminal activities for today and tomorrow.”
“We are asking all aspiring criminals, seasoned veterans, and those who find themselves committing crimes out of boredom, please take note: it is too hot to commit crimes.”
