Principal Claims He Was Forced To Resign After Giving Wooden Penis To Co-Worker
A former principal at Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven, Michigan, is suing the district claiming he was forced to resign after gifting an employee with a wooden penis.
Fox News reports that Jack Stanton gifted a female security guard a wooden penis that was previously confiscated from a student who made it in a wood workshop.
“He’s told by the administration ‘look we are going to make all this information public, we’re going to do a full investigation unless you resign in 24 hours,’ ” said Stephen Lovell, who is Stanton’s lawyer.
Apparently, Stanton was told that the female security guard felt sexually harassed by the joke, which led him to believe that he should resign.
“They did everything they could to keep him from getting that hearing. They didn’t want him to have that hearing because they knew, one: the school board sort of exonerated him for this because it is this private joke, two: they didn’t want the fact that they were lying about this stuff to come to light,” added Lovell.
The lawyer who is representing the Anchor Bay School District denies that they forced Stanton to resign,
“For a disciplinary action against an employee to be taken by the board he can request a closed session in front of the board, he knows that that’s a fact, and any statement to the contrary is a lie.” They added that regardless of the security guard being offended, his behavior was not appropriate for a Principal.
The woman in question is said to have filed an affidavit claiming she “was not offended.”
