Prosecutors Recommend No Jail Time For Tekashi 69 As Part Of Plea
Tekashi 69 might be a free man after all! Since the rapper pled guilty, he has been cooperating with investigators to pinpoint other persons of interest involved in the crimes, including the shooting of Chief Keef.
According to a new unsealed plea deal, prosecutors in his federal case will recommend no jail time for Tekashi as long as he cooperates with authorities,
If he cooperates before a Grand Jury, the US Attorney’s office agreed “not to prosecute the defendant for the crimes set forth in Counts One through Nine…. as well as additional crimes that the defendant has told the government about.” Ultimately, he could be free as soon as January 2020.”
“Should the defendant successfully cooperate, the government agrees that it will file at the time of sentencing a motion.. for a sentence below any mandatory minimum.”
Tekashi will also be eligible for witness protection if he his released. The 22-year-old rapper is facing a minimum of 47 years and a maximum of life in prison for nine federal counts.
