R. Kelly & Aaliyah: Forged Marriage License Surfaces Online
In addition to the latest reports of witness accounts to R. Kelly and Aaliyah Haughton having sexual relations, Lifetime Network’s docuseries on the famed R&B crooner premiered part one last night (Jan. 3), and now all the beans are pouring out of the can.
While Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton, denied the witness’ claims and a relationship altogether, the docuseries told the story of Robert allegedly bending the law to fabricate a marriage certificate between he and then-underage Aaliyah.
Additionally, his former tour manager, Demetrius Smith said in the first part, “I was so disappointed in him, ’cause I really believed him when he said that, you know, he wasn’t messing with Aaliyah. Aaliyah looked worried. Scared. Worried and scared. I wanted so much to grab Aaliyah and talk to her. I wanted so much to talk to her. ‘Cause she looked at me, she gave me a look like she wanted me to talk to her. That’s why I feel like I failed them. Both of them. I knew that it had changed the course of everything.”
Subsequent to the series premiere, The Blast is now reporting that the forged certificate has hit the net, showing Robert Kelly as groom, age 27, and Aaliyah D. Haughton as bride, age 18; though she was 15.
