R. Kelly Evicted from Chicago Music Studio
R Kelly is on the verge of being evicted from his music studio in Chicago.
However, despite all the controversial allegations, his possible eviction is due to falling behind on his rent.
The Blast reports that sources close to the property on the West Side of Chicago state that R. Kelly has two weeks to pay up thousands of dollars in backed up rent. If he does not pay up, he faces the risk of being removed by the local Sheriff.
Midwest Commercial Funding filed a lawsuit against Kelly in July for falling behind by $80,000. Sources state that Kelly has to pay the money back in two weeks or leave the studio.
The singer is reported to have obtained a loan through Midwest Commercial, and his contract guaranteed a 10-year lease at of $22,927.41 a month. However, after failing to pay two major payments the eviction process was sped up.
As we reported, the property is currently on sale, it was also featured on Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” as a den for his alleged sex cult. It’s listed for sale at $3.9 million.
