Looks like R. Kelly isn’t taking jail too well as his lawyer says that he is miserable!
R. Kellys alleged past is now coming back to get him as he sits at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center downtown in Chicago being miserable.
According to the R&B singer’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, Kells is having a hard time finding things to occupy his time as he can’t read or write well.
“He’s also a spiritual guy, has a Bible with him in his cell, but he can’t read it. It’s basically there for comfort,” Greenberg said.
Him not being able to read comes at no surprise as his ex-wife Andrea Kelly shared that she would try to help him learn on the shocking docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.”
Greenberg has been put on record Describing Kelly as “a soft-spoken guy” who is basically illiterate. He claims Kelly “has a stage persona who is used to having people around him all the time. His life in solitary is now minus TV. No radio. No music. And no books.”
We also get a look into his day to day jail activities from Greenberg who says that Kelly has
“been placed in the MCC’s ‘SHU’ — a cell in solitary confinement away from the jail population and is constantly being moved from cell to cell. He has only the guards to talk to.”
While there are many who do not like Kelly due to his actions, he does have some fans who believe that all his accusations are false.
“ he is receiving plenty of mail, which is 97% positive and he pores over it,” added Greenberg, who says that Kelly is able to recognize a few words and writes some words phonetically.
As Kelly awaits trial, there will be plenty of stories about this decades-long case.
