Looks like a riff between Raf Simons and Calvin Klein has gotten so bad that Simons has decided to part ways with the American brand!
With just eight months left in his contract, Raf Simons has decided to pack up his desk and part ways with Calvin Klein.
Reports say that this was not a surprise as tensions had been fuming regarding Simons role with the company.
Women’s Wear Daily reports that Klein decided on a new brand direction which differs from Simons’ creative vision.
Back in September, the company made a bold step to limit the amount of work that Simons was responsible for while agreeing to a new contract.
Various sources say that Klein decided that areas including store design, visual merchandising, e-commerce, public relations and communications, and corporate social responsibility would report to Marie Gulin-Merle, chief marketing officer.
These were rolls that Simons previous oversaw as a part of his initial contract which he had been given total responsibility for all creative areas when he joined.
If you keep up with fashion news, back in November, chairman, and chief executive officer of PVH Corp. Emanuel Chirico said that the brand under Simons direction was simply not working.
As of now, neither party has openly spoken out about this slip, but as soon, as they do we will keep you updated!
