Random Man Tries To Steal Halle Berry’s Home
Imagine coming back home from a long day of work and notice your locks changed by a strange man claiming your home is his property! Well, that’s close to what happened to Halle Berry.
A man named Ronald Eugene Griffin showed up at an L.A. property owned by the actress back in January and allegedly messed with the locks, but took off when he was approached by Halle’s gardener. However, a few months later, he returned with a locksmith trying to gain access in, claiming he was the new owner of the home and had the deed to prove it.
Griffin managed to have one of the locks changed. Not only that, but he actually made a call to the police when he was confronted by the employees at the house and took full ownership. He even pointed fingers at Halle’s employees as the trespassers! However, LAPD detectives quickly determined Griffin had fraudulently changed the title of the residence and Halle later told detectives she had no idea who he was.
Griffin was later arrested and charged with a felony count of procuring and offering a false warranty deed and an additional count of petty theft. His bond’s set at $36k.
