On Monday night, Love & Hip Hop: New York viewers witnessed rapper Remy Ma suffer from a miscarriage. Following the episode, the “All the Way Up” rapper took to Instagram to speak on her heartbreaking loss.
She made a video statement that said, “First, thank you to everyone that sent their congrats as well as condolences. This was a hard time for me & my husband & we thought long and hard before deciding to share this part of our lives with you all.”
Throughout the season, viewers got to see the rappers husband, whom is also a rapper, Papoose, urging his wife to consider a pregnancy, in hopes of having their first child together. Papoose surprised Remy with a gift that turned out to be a pregnancy test because he ‘hit a home run’ during the previous weeks. The Bronx rapper then surprised him with a gift that revealed that she was with child, only to find out that the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
Remy Ma continued, “I was totally against it but in a fit of crying Papoose said ‘you are not the only one going thru this, we will get thru it…’ made me realize how many women like myself experience the same thing and don’t have a strong partner by their side to say it will be alright. So I’m here to tell anyone going thru a similar situation that it is not over and God has the last say.”
She also thanked the hospital crew and her doctor: “So thank you to the staff at the hospital I was in; you all were super nice & respectful and did everything to ensure I was comfortable. And to Dr. Razmzan, who came to perform my surgery at 5am, who tried his best to leave me scar-less and succeeded, who eased any fears I had, thank you, and don’t retire yet cause once we find the right In-Vitro doctor, you have to deliver my babies.”
Remy Ma has a son and Papoose has a daughter, both from previous relationships. They are still hoping to have a child of their own in the near future.
