Remy Ma & Safaree Reportedly Sued For Breaking Contract With Benefit Concert
Looks like Remy Ma just can’t catch a break. Following all the drama she‘s dealing with “Love & Hip-hop“ star Brittney Taylor, the veteran rapper is now being sued for breaching a contract with organizers for a benefit concert.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, The Circle Foundation, which mentors Chicago-area youths is suing Remy along with her fellow LHH cast mate Safree for not sticking to the rules of their contracts. Apparently, their contracts specifically stated they could NOT perform within 60 miles of the arena for 30 days before the event. It’s a common practice that most promoters use to make sure their concerts remain in hot demand.
In the suit, the Foundation says both rappers agreed and signed the deal, with Remy getting a $35k deposit payment and Safaree getting $7,250. However, Remy reportedly performed on April 8 at the Black Women’s Expo in Chicago and Safaree played the Rockin’ Horse Saloon & Grill on April 14 in a Chicago suburb. So, organizers at Circle Foundation had to cancel the show.
The Foundation claims they asked the rappers for the money back but got no response from them. Now they’re suing to get their money back in addition to damages.
Remy’s attorney Eric Sanders tells TMZ that Remy is, “unaware of any purported legal action filed but, if such action is initiated she will respond accordingly.”
