Robert Mueller’s Report Finds No Trump-Russia Collusion, But Does Not Exonerate President
Well here it is: Special counsel Robert S. Mueller found absolutely no evidence that Donald Trump or his campaign schemed with Russia to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. Shocking right? Well,
Attorney General William Barr, who released the four-page summary of Mueller’s Russia investigation report on Sunday said that he also found insufficient evidence to pursue the matter further.
“The special counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election,” the four-page letter sent to Congress states.
“While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” Barr quotes Mueller as saying.
Of course, President Trump declared victory shortly after the summary was released, claiming it was a “complete and total exoneration.” He added,
“This was an illegal takedown that failed and, hopefully, somebody’s going to be looking at the other side. It was a complete and total exoneration. It’s a shame our country had to go through this. To be honest it’s a shame your President had to go through this,” Trump told reporters in Florida before boarding Air Force One. Trump even hopped on Twitter and said, “No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!” Trump tweeted.
