Roberta Flack was rushed to the hospital after she fell ill during her performance at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem.
TMZ reports Roberta Flack performed at a charity concert for the Jazz Foundation of America when she suddenly became ill. An ambulance arrived around 8:50 p.m. and she was rushed to a local hospital in Harlem.
The 81-year-old singer was reported to hold her own on stage before her performance was cut short. The FDNY stated they responded to a call about a “sick” person.

Flack is well known for her hits in the ’70s and ’80s like “Killing Me Softly”, “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” and “Set The Night To Music”.
