‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is set to hit the Las Vegas strip in 2020 with live shows at the Flamingo!
RuPaul addressed fans at this years ‘RuPaul’s DragCon NYC’ sharing that in January 2020, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!’ will hit the Las Vegas strip.
This is something new for the show as RuPaul and choreographer Jamal Sims plan on bringing drag to Vegas in a form that ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ fans know and love.
The live show is said to feature Performances, slapstick comedy, dazzling fashions, superb singing and dancing, each with their own special twists, and Drag Race‘s infamous lip syncs.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! is an immersive, interactive thrill-ride for everyone who loves to laugh, dance and sing along when a fabulous drag queen shakes her padded ass on stage,” said RuPaul in a statement.
Each shoe is said to feature Drag Race alumni like Aquaria, Asia O’Hara, Coco Montrese, Derrick Barry, Eureka O’Hara, India Ferrah, Kahanna Montrese, Kameron Michaels, Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Shannel, Shea Couleé and Yvie Oddly. While we would love to see each of them at the same time, each show will only feature seven queens.
“The times that we’re in are so dark and honestly I believe that Drag Race in general promotes a message of love and I think this is another opportunity to spread it,” Sims said in a statement.
Now if you know RuPaul, you know that the songs have to be over the top, so the scores for each show will consist of hit songs from the past 11 seasons and some new original music, written by RuPaul, Drag Race composer, and singer-songwriter Leland, and World of Wonder’s chief creative officer Tom Campbell.
