Shaquille O’Neal Gifts 10 Pairs Of Shoes To 13-Year-Old Atlanta Boy With Size 18 Feet
The mother of 13-year-old Zach Keith recently took to Instagram to share that her 6’2″-tall son, who’s a size 18 in shoes, is having a hard time finding a good affordable pair. She shared in her post,
“I’m a single parent of a 13 year old who wears a size 18 shoe. He plays basketball and football for J.W. Stewart Middle School and will be attending Douglas County High School in the fall. It’s hard finding shoes and cleats in his size let alone being able to afford them at times. He’s almost in a size 19 and I need help. If you can do anything to help I will be so appreciative.”
CNN affiliate WGCL decided to reach out to Shaquille O’Neal to ask for help and he didn’t hesitate. The former NBA star went back to the same shoe store where he was gifted free pair of shoes when he was younger because of the same problem, and surprised Keith and his family. O’Neal not only bought one, but 10 pairs of shoes for Keith. Speaking with the news channel, O’Neal said,
“I reminisced back how that used to be me, my mom and my dad. Bruce did it for me, and I just want to return the favor,” O’Neal said referring to Bruce Teilhaber, who gave him a pair of shoes for free.
“I wasn’t expecting that,” Zach said. “To meet Shaquille O’Neal, All-Star player, one of my All-Star favorites, surprised, shocked.” His mother also said, “This will help a lot. I won’t have to so much worry about dress shoes. For me, it was just, it was very touching, very heartfelt and to know that there’s somebody out there that has his back.
