So much for helping out another cat as one shelter kitty was placed in solitary confinement for helping others escape!
Quality the cat is currently sitting in solitary confinement after being punished for helping other cats escape their cages at a Houston shelter.
Staff at the Friends For Life Animal Rescue and Adoption Organization say that Quality helps the other cats break out of their senior room ‘repeatedly, several times a day’. They also shared that this is not the first time that Quality has helped other animals. They add that at his old home, he would let the family’s dogs in the house.
Being that Quality is all around a helpful cat, the staff at the shelter are not finding it easy to keep him confined to one room.
“Quilty will not be contained. And he has no shame. We have since Quilty-proofed the cat room, while he took a brief hiatus in the lobby. His roommates missed him while he was banished to the lobby. They enjoyed their nighttime escapades around the shelter. The staff, however, did not miss the morning cat wrangling, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree there.”
After an online petition was created to free the helpful cat, the shelter say s that the parole board reviewed the case and decided to keep him in solitary even after managing to free himself.
While the cat is still looking for a forever home, the shelter playfully added “I do know that I like to open closed doors” in his bio.
