A South Carolina sheriff candidate addressed some of the mistakes he made in the past which included dressing in blackface at a costume party.
Okayplayer reports that Craig Stivender of Colleton County addressed the issue in his campaign video. He also revealed that he was driving without a license at 16, losing his temper at work and being involved in various car accidents. “That’s why I want to tell you at the start of my campaign some things that politicians would try to hide. Things my opponents may try to use to tarnish my integrity.”
Stivender shows a photo of himself at a costume party in blackface dressed as Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, the founder of the Black Mafia Family.
“I did it to disparage a criminal whose actions hurt our community and country,”
