A fatal shooting occurred Sunday night after a Walgreens security guard shot a suspected shoplifter.
According to ABC 7, the shooting took place on the 1500 block of Vine St. around 8:10 p.m. Police described the scene as a shoplifting incident but the 21-year-old male did not leave the store. Additional reports stated that the shooting occurred after the security guard and the suspect had an argument and it escalated to a physical altercation.
During the physical confrontation, the security pulled out a handgun and fatally shot the young man.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

There were no other injuries reported and the security guard was not arrested for the shooting.
