Social Media Users Are Happy After Sonic the Hedgehog Gets Redesigned

Back in May, Paramount and Sega shared a trailer of the part-live-action ‘Sonic’ movie. While fans were excited about seeing the popular video game hero on the big screen, many social media users were extremely disappointed by the character’s freighting features.

The first image of Sonic showed the blue fur-ball with human-like teeth and features rather than an appearance that better suits a cartoon character. After experiencing a wave of criticism, the director of the movie, Jeff Fowler, said he’s going back to the drawing board and promised to fix the design.

The new trailer dropped on Tuesday, and the new Sonic looks anything but creepy. Fans took to social media to share how they felt about the new look, and almost everyone is here for it. One user tweeted,

“Thank God for giving Sonic Justice!! #SonicMovie definitely a go.” Another said, “Congratulations to the Sonic film team for that amazing turn around on the redesign. Looks great!”
