The big news was announced Monday by NBC. The network shared that the Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actress will now take over Harvey’s hosting duties for the show. Harvey had been on for three season, entertaining viewers who were tuned in to see young people with outstanding talents.

Paul Telegdy, NBC’s co-chairman of entertainment told reporters while announcing the news via People,

“Melissa’s just an incredible performer and incredible comedian. She will bring a completely fresh perspective to it. Melissa is a strong creative force with her own ideas. Changes will be apparent,” Telegdy added.

So how does Harvey feel about all of this? He wrote on Mondy,

“God has already lined up all the people in your path to get you to your dreams and your visions; all you have to do is get rid of the wrong ones.”

As of right now, an exact date for the show’s return has not yet been announced.
