Stevie Wonder’s Memorial Tribute Fulfills Nipsey Hussle’s Dream
As fans and loved-ones prepare to say goodbye to Nipsey Hussle, details of his grand memorial are slowly being released including the confirmation that Stevie Wonder will perform at his send off.
The Blast confirms that Stevie will perform at today’s “Celebration of Life” for Ermias, who previously rapped about having Stevie Wonder perform at his funeral.
Nipsey’s song “Ocean Views,” touches on death and the idea of Wonder performing at his funeral,
“Then when I die, blue rag around my rifle
Hunnid thousand in my coffin, that’s just light dough
Play a Stevie Wonder song, smoke some flight bro
Crack a pint of Act then pour in some Sprite bro
Until that day I’m walking toward whats in my sight though.”
The order of service for the memorial has been circulating and states that Wonder will perform “Rocket Love.” Others involved in today’s event include Anthony Hamilton, Marsha Ambrosius, Snoop Dogg, Jhene Aiko, YG, Stevie Wonder and Big Boy. Minister Louis Farrakhan will also speak during the memorial.
The memorial program is also full of notes of goodbye and memories from close friends and family, including Lauren London, James Harden, DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, The Game, and many more!
