Student Uses Snapchat Gender Swap Filter To Catch Cop Seeking Minors
A student identified as Ethan created a fake Tinder account and used Snapchats gender swap filter to pose as a 16-year-old girl. Well, Ethan managed to get the attention of San Mateo police officer, Robert Davies.
“I believe he messaged me, ‘Are you down to have some fun tonight?’ and I decided to take advantage of it,” Ethan revealed. He intened on using his disgusie to cath child predators.
Ethan reveals that the conversation moved to KIK messenger and he told the cop that he was actually 16, but, that did not seem to bother him.
“We started texting on there, and it got a lot more explicit,” Ethan told KNTV.
Police add that Davies was aware that “Esther” was 16 years old and that they “chatted about engaging in sexual activity” in other conversations.
In a statement released last week, San Mateo police said Davies was on administrative leave.
“This alleged conduct, if true, is in no way a reflection of all that we stand for as a department,” San Mateo police Chief Susan Manheimer said Thursday, adding that the alleged incident “is an affront to the tenets of our department and our profession as a whole.”
The investigation is still ongoing.
He used Snapchat’s “gender switch” filter to pose as a 16-year-old girl online, and take down a police officer allegedly looking to hook up. He tipped off the PD, and the officer was arrested.
