Many ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ fans have expressed their criticism against the SEGA mascot’s design after the trailer of his first feature premiered. Now director Jeff Fowler says he’s going to change the character’s design.
According to Kotaku, “Sonic The Hedgehog” director Jeff Fowler made a statement on Twitter after thousands of fans criticized Sonic’s updated design in the film.
“The message is loud and clear.You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”
One main criticism of Sonic’s design was giving the character human-shaped teeth which led to making some people “uncomfortable.”

Before Fowler and Paramount Studios made the decision to redesign Sonic, several Twitter users took it upon themselves to do a side by side comparison of their own design based on the video games and animated series.
