Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fractured three ribs after falling while in her Supreme Court office Wednesday night.
According to a statement from the Supreme Court, 85-year-old Ginsburg got injured after falling Wednesday night in her Supreme Court office.
She underwent discomfort after returning to her home following the fall and was admitted into George Washington University Thursday morning. She is being observed and treated.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg became the second woman given the opportunity to serve on the Supreme court when she was appointed by former President Bill Clinton in 1993. Over the course of her term, she has quickly become a known name in the political space.
Recently obtaining the nickname of “Notorious RBG”, Ginsburg is known for her toughness and liberal beliefs. She is one of the four liberal judges in the high court.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway had nothing but well wishes for Ginsburg as she spoke with reporters on the White house lawn. Conway expressed that Ginsburg is “a very tough woman” and that she is “praying for her”.
“I’ve known her for many, many years — got to see her just a few weeks ago here at the swearing-in of Justice Kavanaugh,” Conway told reporters, adding, “I hope she has a full and speedy recovery.”
