A Florida high school teacher was arrested Thursday after he invited student on a trip to France and asked her to be his “teenage bride.”
Yahoo! News reports 41-year-old John Teti of Oakland Park was arrested for attempting to “solicit a romantic, lewd, and sexual relationship” with a 16-year-old student from October to December. The teen’s father alerted the authorities about Teti’s heinous intentions. Teti taught business-technology at Northeast High School and often initiated inappropriate conversations with the student and her classmates through the app Remind Me.
Broward County Police stated that Teti attempted to “groom” the teen by offering her rides to school and trips to McDonald’s, and tried to convince her to skip class to hang out with him. One of the text messages between Teti and the student also detailed a “what-if” scenario involving his wife.
“If my wife were to suddenly die, would you be my teenage bride?” … “We should spend all summer together.…Is that weird?”

He also told the teen he would call out her name during sex. During a police interview, Teti told police he had a “special bond and relationship” with the student and confessed to sending her vulgar text messages.
A rep from Broward County School District said Teti was immediately terminated Thursday and was escorted off of school grounds by police. His bail was set for $50,000.
