A Utah teen who attempted to do the “Bird Box” Challenge, crashed her vehicle into oncoming traffic in Layton. Netflix recently issued out a warning about the challenge.
BBC News reports the teen crashed her vehicle while blindfolded on Layton Parkway. Police LT Travis Lyman stated that he would never thought to advise someone to not drive while covering their eyes.
“It’s just inexcusable to do something as dangerous as this, not only to yourself but everyone else on the road,”

The “Bird Box” challenge requires the participants to perform daily activities while blindfolded. This is in reference to Sandra Bullock’s character in the movie where she has to remain blindfolded to survive the events in the film.
Netflix caught wind of the unsafe challenge and urged fans to use their better judgement.
“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”
