Teen In Joker Costume Arrested For Allegedly Suggesting Mass Shooting

A Queens, New York teen who paid homage to the controversial new “Joker” film starring Joaquin Phoenix for Halloween was arrested around 1:40 p.m. today at the High School for Arts and Business in Corona after he allegedly threatened to “kill people after school.”

“Today would be a good day for a shooting,” the student allegedly told school staffers before asking if the campus’s windows were bulletproof, sources said. After being reported, the unidentified student was later placed under arrest and taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center for a psychological evaluation.

The Daily News reports that the kid was not charged. Isabelle Boundy, Assistant Press Secretary, NYC Department of Education released a statement about the incident.

She said:

“Safety always comes first, and we are providing additional support to the school community,” said Isabelle Boundy, Assistant Press Secretary, NYC Department of Education. “There is no credible threat, and all students and staff are safe.”
