A Connecticut committed murder-suicide after he shot and killed his girlfriend’s teen son and daughter then turned the gun on himself.
According to the New York Post, Paul Ferguson,42, shot Della Jette,15, and her 16-year-old brother, Sterling Jette Jr. in their Watertown home on Tuesday evening. Waterbury Police reported the shooting occurred when Della approached her mother about Ferguson smoking indoors and he ran up the stairs to confront her. Sterling attempted to break up the argument but Ferguson pulled out his Glock handgun from a safe in the bedroom and shot the boy in the chest. He also shot Della in the chest shortly after.

Authorities arrived at the home shortly before 10 p.m. after the teens’ mother, Danielle Jette, contacted 911 and told them that her children were shot by her boyfriend. They were transported to Waterbury Hospital but later died of their injuries. Ferguson died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and police noted he was a convicted felon.

He was dating the teens’ mother for two years and police reported the Medical Examiner’s Office is currently investigating.
