There’s a good chance that Kevin Hart could be hosting the 2019 Oscar Awards after Ellen DeGeneres spoke with the comedian and the Academy.

The conversation about Hart hosting the award show died down for a few weeks but it became a trending topic again following his appearance on the Ellen Show. It was revealed by the talk show host that the Academy really wanted Hart for the job despite not apologizing for his old homophobic tweets when they asked. Kevin said he will think hard about it and will let Ellen know when he makes a final decision.

Until then, stars have weighed in to share if they think Hart should host or not. TMZ recently caught up with Terrence Howard and he believes the Academy might have really blew it by passing on him. He also defends the comedians homophobic old jokes, saying “it’s all part of the job.”

Howard also said gathering up jokes and tweets from year’s to bring someone down, crosses the line, and then insinuated the attack on Kevin might be racial, pointing to recent comments by Nick Cannon that white comedians made similar homophobic jokes without facing any consequences.
