Texas Mother Abandons 5 Kids In Feces To Take Trip To Myrtle Beach
A mother from Texas has been charged with child abandonment after she left her kids children at home for several days so that she could take a trip to Myrtle Beach.
Chrystal Nichole Walraven, 28, of Round Rock, was arrested Feb. 11 for a felony of two counts of abandoning and endangering a child.
The children were aged 15 months to 12 years. She allegedly said that she went to Myrtle Beach to investigate a job opportunity and “because she needed to get away from everything that was happening at home.” She is reported to have spent time with a male friend.
Fox 7 Austin reports that police visited Walraven’s home after the Gattis Elementary School principal showed concern about a student’s living situation. They then discovered garbage and flies in the homes while the younger kids lived in their own feces.
The children were taken to foster care and later put in the care of relatives. Id the mother is convicted she could face 2-20 years in jail.
