The Met Gala Theme And Co-Chairs Have Been Announced!

*Drumroll please* The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City has announced the theme for its 2020 Met Gala: “About Time: Fashion and Duration!” The museum described its choice as a reflection on the ephemeral nature of fashion.

The big event will mark the Met’s 150th anniversary and will take guest back in time while familiarizing them with the styles of the 1870s all the way through the 19th and 20th centuries to the present. The Met shared that they were inspired by French philosopher Henri Bergson.

To make things even more special, the co-chairs for the gala, which is set to take place on Monday, May 4, will be actress Emma Stone, the iconic Meryl Streep, Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière, “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, and of course, longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

This year’s gala was a little challenging for the stars as the theme was “Camp.” However, we still saw a bunch of creative looks from celebrities including Lady Gaga, Cardi B and Kim Kardashian. The new theme may be a little easier for everyone to understand but that doesn’t mean we expect them to tone things down!

Socialites, who do you think will nail the theme at the 2020 Met Gala? Upload a video to Yappa and let us know!
