The newly released HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland” prompts “The Simpsons” to remove an episode which featured Michael Jackson as a character.
HBO has released the documentary “Leaving Neverland” which shed light on the alleged sexual misconduct the lats Michal Jackson committed with young boys.
This documentary has fans of the singer split on what is true and what is not. But for the popular tv show “The Simpsons” their decision was easy.
Back in 2991, “The Simpsons” released an episode called “Stark Raving Dad” Jackson voices a character who shared a jail cell with Homer.
Following the release of the documentary, the show and its team decided to pull the episode from all streaming platforms.
“It feels clearly the only choice to make…the documentary gave evidence of monstrous behavior,” producer James L. Brooks told the Wall Street Journal.
“This was a treasured episode. There are a lot of great memories we wrapped up in that one, and this certainly doesn’t allow them to remain.”
This decision was reportedly left in the hands of Brooks, Matt Groening, and former showrunner Al Jean.
Since the documentary hit the airwaves, the listing price for Neverland Ranch has dropped significantly by over $69 million.
