Toddlers Critically Burned After Road Rage Shooting Sets Off fireworks In Family’s Car
Tragedy struck on the Fourth of July after two toddlers and their parents were badly burned after someone fired shots into their car, causing the fireworks inside to go off.
KHOU reports that the family was driving in Houston when they got into a heated argument with another driver. Both drivers then pulled into a gas station where the argument escalated. The driver then showed a gun which urged the father to get back in his truck and drive off. However, the man chased them and fired into their car causing the fireworks to explode and engulf the vehicle into flames.
Witnesses saw the incident and stopped to help the family, but they were already badly burned. The mother and father were taken to UTMB Galveston hospital by ambulance and the kids were airlifted to the same hospital.
The toddlers suffered sever burns and have been listed in critical condition.
The suspect is reportedly in his 20’s and may have had other occupants in the vehicle. He was seen driving in a light colored Ford Expedition.
