Tracee Ellis Ross Wore Majority Black Designers During The 2018 AMAs

During Tuesday nights AMAs, actress-host Tracee Ellis Ross made a bold statement by wearing majority black-owned clothing!

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross couldn’t have made a bigger statement than she did while hosting Tuesday nights AMAs.

Ross who changed into various outfits throughout the night wore designers who were black! Her stylist Karla Welch had Ross rocking names like Pyer Moss during the red carpet arrival, Dapper Dan for Gucci in her opening dance number, as well as Off-White, Cushnie, Balmain and more.

During one of her outfit changes, Ross wore a shirt by Shanel which was aimed at getting people to Vote as the shirt read, “I’m A Voter.”

While not every piece she wore was by a black designer, she did wear Pat McGrath Labs which is a black-owned makeup company started by big-time makeup artist Pat McGrath.

This type of speaking out is similar to what we saw from actress Jennifer Lewis who wore a Nike jacket during the 2018 Emmy awards to show her support for football player Colin Kaepernick.
