Transgender Woman Brutally Beaten By “Homophobic Mob” Is Found Murdered A Month Later

Just a month ago we shared a very disturbing clip showing a transgender woman being brutally attacked by a group of people in Dallas Texas. Police have just given the latest update on the victim Muhlaysia Booker and have revealed that she has died.

As we previously reported, Booker, 23, was attacked on April 14 after an apparently minor traffic dispute outside the Royal Crest Apartments Dallas, Texas. Her attacker, Edward Dominic Thomas, 29, was seen on video beating her while others joined in. He was detained on April 16 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Further charges were pending. Booker was eventually helped up and taken to a hospital by a group of women where she told police attackers used homophobic slurs while hitting her.

According to the Daily Mail, Booker was found shot dead on Saturday morning. Police said they discovered her laying face down on the 7200 block of Valley Glen Drive at approximately 6:40am. Booker was pronounced dead at the scene and Dallas Police Department said at a press conference she was the victim of “homicidal violence.”

Police did indicate that the death was not tied to the viral incident in April. It is currently not being investigated as a hate crime, according to CBS DFW reports.
