On top of creating great films, Tyler Perry continues to do great things for those who are in need.
Perry is now helping out the family of Tynesha Evans’ who was killed by her boyfriend on Saturday while at bank in North Fulton County. It’s been several days since Evans has died and it’s taking a huge toll on her family; physically, mentally and financially, but Tyler Perry wants to step in and help.
After hearing the family’s heartbreaking story, Perry contacted them and offered to help out on in huge way. Not only did he offer to fly their mother’s body back to her home state of Wisconsin, where family and friends will hold her funeral, but he also promised to take care of tuition for Evans’ daughter Sharadiant Turner, who is a freshman at Spelman College in Atlanta.
“It was a call I wasn’t even going to answer. I said, ‘Well, let me answer it to see who it is.’ I answered and the person on the other end said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Who?’ He said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Tyler who?’ and he said, ‘Tyler Perry.’ At that point, I just broke down crying,” said Evans’ daughter Audrey Turner.
Although the family is still heartbroken they are trying their best to find some peace.
“I’m going to do what she wanted me to do. She started me on math and now I’m going to get to graduate with a mathematics degree from Spelman College without debt, it means everything,” Sharadiant Turner said. “This [is] amazing. We can’t thank him enough,” Sharadiant Turner said.
