On Monday, Alabama authorities located remains deep in a rural area in the city of Auburn. On Thursday, we can sadly report that the remains are those of 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard.
This search stems from October 23rd when the college student went missing at a convenience store in Auburn.
With the remains being found, this case has turned into a homicide investigation.
There are currently three suspects in custody in connection with Blanchard’s disappearance, Ibraheem Yazeed, 30, Antwain Shamar Fisher, 35, and David Johnson Jr., 63.
This case gained major attention as Blanchard was the stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight Walt Harris.
“I have feelings that there may be somebody that she knows that has set her up,” Aniah’s mother said Angela Harris said while on an episode of Dr. Phill. “I have something that we can’t really discuss, but there’s … a lady that they’re working on to try and figure that part out.”
Two days after Blanchard went missing, authorities located her vehicle about 50 miles away at an apartment complex in Montgomery. When searching the 2017 Honda CRV, examiners say that there
“was indicative of someone suffering a life-threatening injury” and that Blanchard was “harmed and is considered to be a victim of foul play.”
