Update: Colorado School Shooting Leaves One Dead

Police officials say that one person ha died in relation to the Colorado STEM school shooting.


One person has been killed at the STEM School Highlands Ranch in Colorado and 7 injured after two alleged suspects walked into the campus and began shooting.

“We know two individuals walked into the STEM school, got deep inside the school and engaged students in two separate locations,” Sheriff Tony Spurlock of Douglas County said at a news conference.

As of now, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says that the victim who was killed was an 18-year-old male.

One suspect was identified as 18-year-old Devon Erickson, however, there was no further information about a motive or the name of a second suspect.

“We still have interviews to conduct and we want to make sure we have the most accurate information,” he sheriff’s office said.

Authorities were able to locate the home of Mr. Erickson whos family has lived there since the late ’90s. They were also able to speak with a neighbor who described the suspect as a quiet man who often neglected to make eye contact with people.

This shooting came one month after the STEM school and hundreds of schools near Denver closed on the 20th anniversaries of the Columbine High School shooting.
