UPDATE: Gunman Identified In California Bar Shooting

The gunman who entered a packed California bar and shot and killed a dozen people inside has been identified as 28-year-old David Ian Long, according to TMZ.

Long, a former marine, deployed a smoke device late Wednesday night and used a .45-caliber handgun on the victims, according to authorities. 12 people were confirmed dead, including Long, but as of right now it is unclear how he died.

California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, has canceled classes today because of the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill, according to their website.

An alert on the university’s website reads:

“Classes will not be held today, Nov. 8. Borderline hotline number: 805-465-6650. The university community is invited to gather at the chapel, which is open.” 

Meanwhile, Trump praised the police for their “great bravery” in the California attack and said, “God bless all of the victims and families of the victims.”

Authorities have not yet confirmed any motive behind the attack. We will continue to keep you updated on this news.
